Concetti Gross Weigher

Concetti Gross Weigher

The gross weigher is made as an integrated part of the IGF or Continua machine. In this case the bag holder is itself weighed and product is fed directly into the bag with no intervening weigh hopper.

The same range of gravity, belt or screw feeders is available. A gross weigher requires less headroom and can have advantages when handling sticky materials.

The photograph shows a Continua 400 with gross weigher and gravity feedgate.

Concetti Net Weigher

The Concetti range of net weighers is supplied with various versions of gravity, belt or screw type feeders, according to the materials being handled.

The product is fed into the weigh hopper while the empty bag is positioned. When the required weighment is reached, the controller shuts off the feeding device and discharges the weighment.

The photograph shows a typical belt fed unit.

The ultimate filling sysytem for PE bags.
Concetti FFS Systems

Concetti's Continua™ range is the perfect solution for customers who use PE bags exclusively and want the maximum productivity at the lowest unit cost together with improved appearance and packet stacking. Continua Form, Fill and Seal machines offer all these benefits - and more.

With a reputation for ruggedness gained in many applications on extremely aggressive products like fertiliser and caustic soda, the Continua range can handle speeds of up to 1800 bags/hr on weighments of 10-50 kg. Units can be fitted with net or gross weighers depending upon speed and materials handled.

The bag is formed on the machine from tubular PE film with or without gussets using either an encoder to determine bag length or a printed registration mark on the film itself.

The range

Compact and competitively priced, the Continua 400 is ideal for low-speed applications on non-dusty products where reliability is important. For higher outputs or where difficult and dusty materials need to be packed, Continua 600, 900, 1200, 1400 and 1800 are available in various versions to suit virtually any application.

Features

  • Rugged and reliable.
  • Sack mouth pre-seal cleaning system (Continua 600 and above).
  • Replaceable Teflon on the sealing jaws.
  • Forced seal cooling on high-speed machines (Continua 1200 and above).
  • Self-cleaning rails inside the machine housing.
  • Quick format change by servomotors in less than 90 seconds.
  • Bottom possing to help settle the product.
  • Servo-assisted reel change.

Options

  • Deaeration probes for fine powder materials.
  • Corner sealing to improve palletisation.
  • Bags made with handles on top or top and bottom for easy lifting.
  • Modem for remote analysis of the PLC.
  • Mobile systems to handle several different silos.
  • Atex certified systems.

Applications

The Continua range is ideal for free-flowing and semi-free flowing materials. Products from the food, plastics, building products and chemical industries are all suitable.

Concetti have particular expertise in chemicals and mineral products to provide machines for corrosive products like caustic soda and fine, very dusty cementitious products found in the building sector.

Concetti Big-Bag Fillers

Filling systems for 500-1500kg FIBCs.
Concetti Big-Bag Fillers

Concetti's FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) filling systems include gross and net weighing versions and a carousel arrangement for speeds up to 100 bags/hr. The whole range is characterised by high precision weighing and the ability to handle a wide range of different products.

The choice of machine is determined by the material handled and the output required by the customer.

Gross Weighing

With this system, the big-bag itself is weighed and product is fed directly into it. The hydraulically driven vertical movement of the frame makes it possible to handle a wide variety of bag formats very easily.

Net Weighing

With this system, a net weigher produces the weighment while the operator places the bag. A wide variety of weighments and bag formats can be handled. The unit can also be used to fill other containers such as Octabins, for example.

Carousel

For very high-speed applications, the carousel system has six stations to allow the operator to place a big-bag, while other bags are being filled, vibrated and unloaded. Bags pass under the filling position one after the other. Because these activities take place simultaneously, the output is increased up to 100 bags/hr.

Features

  • Easy to use loop support system.
  • Dust proof clamping of the filling spout or internal liner.
  • Integral inflation fan.
  • Operator's platform included.

Options

  • Various feed devices to suit the material.
  • Empty pallet dispenser.
  • Pallet conveying systems.
  • Vibrating platform to settle the contents.
  • Atex certified systems.

Concetti Bag Placers

IGF Systems

Concetti's IGF range of bag placers embodies the result of many year's experience. Flexible, reliable and easy to use, the IGF range can handle pack sizes from 2 to 50kg with speeds up to 1500 bags/hr, depending on the material being packed. Using gross or net weighing with gravity, belt or screw feed systems, the fully enclosed monobloc housing provides clean, compact, safe and consistent bag filling and closing.

Self-adjusting features make product changeovers quick and simple. Flat or gusseted bags made from paper, coated paper, PE or woven PP can be handled and bag closure can be from simple sewing through to heat sealing, reactivation of pre-applied glue, or any combination of these.

The Range

Four basic units make up the range. The IGF 600, 900 1200 and 1500 designations indicate the maximum output in bags/hr and covers most applications. The modular design allows Concetti's engineers to tailor each machine to the customer's specific application.

The actual output will depend upon the material being handled and would be confirmed at the proposal stage after material samples are received.

Features

  • Quick format change by servo motors in less than 60 seconds.
  • Bottom possing to settle the product.
  • Single or multiple stack magazines.
  • Gusset reforming on the bagholder.
  • One bagholder covers a wide range of sizes.
  • Self-adjusting bag centering guides.

Options

  • Deaeration probes for highly aerated products.
  • Fine top-up micro dosing system for expensive, difficult to handle materials.
  • Devices to remove the air prior to closure.
  • Modem for remote analysis of the PLC.
  • Reel feeding sytems to produce bags from a tubular reel of PE film.

Applications

Concetti's IGF technology is ideal for many different industries and virtually any application where pre-made bags need to be filled automatically. Industries where Concetti have particularly wide experience include food, animal feedstuffs, pet food, building products and chemicals. Even products like bitumen can be packed on the IGF machine.
